In a world that often emphasizes division, Transformation Longview has shown me how developing our shared values and a common vision for our community really brings people together. I have an increasing hope and anticipation for the good work going on among the people of the greater Longview area. The heart of the community here is something truly special. Transformation tables are helping to cultivate and develop that “it” factor among our leaders and emerging leaders. I am incredibly fortunate to be here in this time as we watch this unfold. Longview is a wonderful place because of caring, engaged people and Transformation is helping to demonstrate the fullness of our potential.

I learned the most in the listening class. What stuck out the most in this class was the phrase "Avoid the temptation to think about what you are going to say next." By taking this advice, I have found myself being able to fully listen to someone and respond more responsibly and address the subject more accurately. The class was an eye opener on a lot of levels of where I am in life. I do believe we all forget our self-worth quite a few times in life. We are faced with so many trials and tribulations in the world we live in today that forgetting who we truly are and who we are meant to be is inevitable. "Our belief in ourselves is often molded, for better or worse, by the environment we grew up in. But WE have the power to change that." This is a quote I think of daily and will continue to do so.
It has been very impactful in both my marriage and my work life. The first thing I learned was listening. Listening is a big thing for me and something I wanted to improve on for a very long time. I think we all struggle with it at some point in our lives. It has made a significant improvement in my marriage and my work. The second thing that translated with me was taking initiative. I think the values tables are a great for businesses, marriages, people in any form of leadership and a great asset to our everyday lives.
